What Medicare Part D Drug Plans Cover
All prescription drug plans must cover a wide range of prescription drugs that people with Medicare take. A Part D or Part C plan with Drug coverage's list of covered drugs is called a “formulary.” Many plans place drugs into different levels, called “Tiers,” on their formularies. Drugs in each tier have a different cost. For example, a generic drug in a lower Tier 1 will generally cost you less than a brand name drug in a higher Tier 5.
